Molôn Labé! NOMINATED FOR BEST FICTION 2004 PROMETHEUS AWARD!

Dear Readers and Friends,

My novel Molôn Labé! is in the running against 12 very worthy contenders for the 5 finalists in the Libertarian Futurist Society's famous Prometheus Award. (For the history of the award, visit http://www.lfs.org/awards.htm )

This is quite an honor for any libertarian novelist, and I am thrilled that my first work of fiction has been nominated. The finalists will be announced this month on http://www.lfs.org/ The winner will be announced in September.

I'm not only up against my favorite novelist Neal Stephenson — he has TWO books in the running! Exciting times!

Boston T. Party - March 7, 2005

ABOUT Molôn Labé!

Yes, the time has finally come! Molôn Labé! (mo-LAWN lah-BAY) is now available! Begun in 1997,the story was so sweeping and the details so numerous that writing it took Boston six years. He describes the 454 page Molôn Labé! as "a book of thought for action people; an action book for people of thought."

The story:

After a decade of retaking their stolen freedoms, the people of Wyoming (many of them newcomers) are forced to finally confront their jealous masters in the U.S. Government. Can a lone, courageous state successfully resist federal tyranny, or has the Bill of Rights been reduced to a myth? Can an allegedly free people act free, or is our liberty just a 4th of July farce?

These issues weigh heavily on the shoulders of Governor James Wayne Preston, a decorated Desert Storm Marine helo pilot. Elected in 2014 on the Laissez-Faire Party ticket, he enjoys nearly full support of the legislature to return Wyoming to a long-lost era of liberty. But how far can he and the people of his state go before Washington, D.C. feels compelled to act? Will Wyoming's free and independent course reach actual secession? Will President Melvin Connor suppress the maverick Western state with federal troops? Will anybody come to Wyoming's aid?

Molôn Labé! captures the probable headlines of 2005-2020. As our Potomac masters increasingly try to run our lives and wipe out state prerogatives, organized resistance in some form is assured. Boston believes that while it is too late to "take back" America, the time is ripe to converge on an already comparatively free state and forge the Jeffersonian ideal of local autonomy and liberty.

Molôn Labé! is a fictional account of a real-world blueprint for a free state initiative focused on Wyoming. If just 4,000 freedom-loving individuals will relocate there under a useful pattern, they can "liberate" the Cowboy State on many levels. In Wyoming we could truly enjoy our rights of gun ownership, privacy, schooling, health and diet, unrestricted travel, and property. Boston shows us how it actually can be done! Very soon he will debut his organization to spearhead the initiative (details to follow on our redesigned website).

Retail price of Molôn Labé! is $24 + $6 s&h.

Pent-up demand for Molôn Labé! is tremendous, and Boston's readers have been clamoring for it since 2000. Prepare yourself for the most exciting read since Unintended Consequences and Patriots!

ANNOUNCING THE RARE FIRST EDITION HARDCOVER Molôn Labé!

Just 547 printed! This first edition hardcover of Molôn Labé! was concurrently published with
the softcover. The casebound has a gold-leaf signature by Boston T. Party, and the dustjacket features two pictures of him (a book first!).

Even the text has many changes (mostly cleanup of typos and continuity errors, but there is a bit of added prose here and there). Because new text masters were produced, the book was delayed for several weeks, but they are now in stock! And every copy is shrink-wrapped for your protection.

The price for a signed postpaid copy is:

  • $50 cash (no checks or M.O.s), or
  • one-tenth ounce .999 gold (e.g., $5 American Eagle), or
  • 6 ounces of .999 silver (e.g., generic rounds)

Due to customer demand for gift copies, we now offer sealed cases of 16 shrink-wrapped unsigned copies (incl. UPS) for:

  • $650 cash (no checks or M.O.s), or
  • 1 ounce .999 gold + $150 cash (this is a real bargain!)

These are the only deals on this edition, so please don't ask for others.

Signed dust jackets (great for replacement, or for framing) are $15 cash ppd., or 10 for $100 cash ppd. Order directly from Javelin Press, as this rare edition will never be sold in stores. (In fact, its ISBN is not even listed in their databases, so they don't even know that it exists!)

Offer good only while supplies last (i.e., if this is still on our site, then we still have copies). Once they are sold out, the collector value of Boston's first hardcover book will likely double overnight. Just 547 copies were printed as a special treat for fans and collectors. Once they're gone, they're gone. Boston has already reserved 100 of them for family, friends, and the future - so only 447 were ever available for sale, and many of those have already been shipped out to early customers.

A gorgeous dustjacket, beautifully stitched cloth binding, and a lifetime of reading... Order this rare edition today! If you're reading this, we still have some - but don't wait!

Molôn Labé! READER COMMENTS AND REVIEWS

[Some scenes] make the heart race or appeal to the mind. His descriptions of anonymous encrypted email are intriguing. Two scenes of revenge murder are eerily engaging in their level of detail and suspense. A few federal raids are drawn straight from the real world. The legislation Preston proposes and the strategies he uses to win are sound and often clever... The final confrontation with the federal government is dramatic and surprising... And of course, Mr. Party does know his firearms very well...

Lady Liberty's Read: Molôn Labé! is a compelling read, not simply because the story itself will hold your attention but because it does bear some resemblence to the real-life Free State and Free State Wyoming Projects. While you'll be able to use this book as many other novels as an enjoyable escape of sorts, I suspect you'll also find it an interesting commentary on today's America, and how we might address the problems that we see. I enjoyed Molôn Labé! very much. I've been moved to tears or laughter by books before, but I must confess that Molôn Labé! is the first I've read that actually moved me to hope.

I just finished reading Molôn Labé! I'm jazzed! It certainly made me want to get out of L.A. and head for Wyoming soonest.

...a fine book...I was pretty engaged by the story. ...I think the plot is brilliant. The story left me depressed at times, elated at others, and in the end I'm still left thinking about it. I feel honored knowing you in that I truly believe your political manifesto is truly an original work of art, a call to arms completely rational, and hopefully it...will turn into a force to be reckoned with.

I finished the book last evening although the appendix will require multiple readings. Molôn Labé! is historical fiction at it's finest. It's apparent that much thought went into this novel. You've put together a blueprint for success.

I loved the book and I recommend it to like-minded folks as often as I can. The final Playboy interview with Preston was a plethora of amazingly lucid food for thought and alone worth the price of the book. You did a superb job of finding and describing the common ground between Christians and Libertarians!

First, thanks for being you. Molôn Labé! is the best $25 I ever spent. I will post an Amazon review sometime later today.

Always bright and innovative, Boston has outdone himself in his new novel. Cleverly crafted, Molôn Labé! weaves a story that is well done and may evolve from a timely tome into reality sometime in our future. I suggest you "Come and take them!"--the novel from Boston T. Party.

Molôn Labé! is a magnificent revelation. I'd also like to purchase a hardcover copy.

P.H., Illinois

The novel is the story of a small group of freedom advocates who tire of the creeping socialism of the United States. It is set in the very near future, ending in [2021]. In this case the how-to is how to take over the state of Wyoming via the political process and what to do with this power once achieved. Thus it is more of a political thriller than a military one. The story is an interesting one and I found the book an enjoyable read.

As a hard hitting polemic and how-to guide it succeeds.... BTP has created an engaging book with more ideas per page than the binding can contain. Readers who enjoyed other self published books in this vein, such as Unintended Consequences, will likely be able to overlook the rough edges and be carried along by the story, ideas and abundance of anecdotal asides....

Molôn Labé! is sure to have you looking at things in a new light after reading it. For this it must ultimately be considered a success and a worthwhile read.

Thank you for the Great American Novel!

BSP

I have read and enjoyed this book, and highly recommend it. I agree that it is not accurately characterized as a novel. I consider it a fictional "chronicle" of a free-state type project. The story provides some excellent educational examples (illustrating better than any advice article can about one's rights in a traffic stop, for instance.)

It is in fact a manual on achieving freedom, as well as a fascinating and thought-provoking excercise into how one would create a truly free society....

This novel is not primarily a "gun book", but it remains a must read for all who care about gun rights because of the essential role that firearm rights play in the story, and in the lives of all people who seek to secure freedom.

While not a traditional novel, Molôn Labé! will entertain and stimulate readers, who will learn about search and seizure law, fully informed juries, computer cryptography and security, electoral politics, monetary crisis, and more bloody and embarassing raids by federal agencies.

To get fully into the spirit of the book and Boston's philosophy, you can buy it direct from him by sending cash through the mail directly to him (I suggest taking advantage of an offer to buy several of his books for a major discount.)

I'm really impressed with Molôn Labé! and look forward to more of your fiction in [the] future. You deserve the highest praise for the scene of [an unnamed character's] death. That was the most beautiful page you've ever written. I was sobbing by the end of it, and again on the next page...

W.A., Missouri

Molôn Labé! requires...more neurons [from the] reader, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Also, it always struck me that we had a national database to check firearms purchases by US Citizens many years before we had one to watch for murderous foreign terrorists trying to enter the country. As far as I am aware, no one has ever commented about this.
